Bookstore
The Bookshop
Independent bookstore in East Nashville, opened in 2016 by former book editor Joelle Herr, who chooses every book and gift in the shop.
The Bookshop opened in East Nashville in July 2016, under the name Her Bookshop. Its owner, Joelle Herr, worked for about twenty years as a book editor, including at Workman, Running Press and Sterling, before opening the shop, and she selects every book and gift it carries.
The stock covers literary fiction, children’s books, science, history, cooking, art and design, poetry, music and memoir.
In June 2026 the shop announced a move from its 550-square-foot space on West Eastland Avenue to a building it bought at 824 Meridian Street, in McFerrin Park, with about three times the floor space and a front porch.
